This is kind of a companion to an earlier piece, and I feel like there’s more I want to do with some of these ideas.
They want size, though, and I’m really hard on bigger pieces. One time an art teacher of mine laughed because I’d turned in a self portrait assignment that I had clearly cropped down from a larger size. Shocked her to find it had been almost twice as large at the start. My difficulty with self-portraiture aside, I feel like if they need to be big, they need to earn it.
