“Something in the Air” – 30 x 23.78 in.
Here’s an image I came up with instead of finishing the big one with the detail work that tweaks my impatience. I know I have a problem. It came out of some thinking on the strangeness of asking the basic question, “How are you?” these days. Our mental (and material) surrounds are so fraught at every level. Who wants to think about their general state in the abstract like that?
It’s not even a good joke—“Hey, friend, how’s the widening gyre treatin’ ya?” You would punch that dude. My kluge has been to severely limit the relevant time frame. “How’s your morning/afternoon/shift going?” etc. Works.
